This is day hike takes us to the summit of one of the Big 4 Southern California peaks (San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, San Bernardino and Baldy). Trailhead is at 6200 ft and short of ski lift—takes us on a fire road past San Antonio falls to ski area (4 mi) and then on trail across Devils Backbone to the peak—about 7 mi with 3800 ft gain. We return on shorter 5 mi steep trail crossing stream and ending at water hole at San Antonio Falls—good for a refreshing dunk. This is suitable as a Family Event and siblings can come as a beginning hike. Please cooperate in getting an accurate head count. This is the beginning of training for this summer’s Sierra Adventure. Please participate if at all possible.
