ISSUES TO BE CONSIDERED/SCHEDULE:

Right now the schedule is leave Wed afternoon, driving to June Lk and leave boys at Trailhead in drive-in camp, and drive around to Tuolumne to drop off cars and then drive drivers back to June in one car. We start hike the next morning and hike to the cars in Tuolumne. If drivers want to drop us off and pick us up—it could save that and we could spend night in Mammoth condo. Drivers could hang out 4 days in Mammoth condo. So we need to work out.

TOP 7 REASONS FOR TAKING THIS HIKE: 1) transsierra trek, 2) ascent of Mt Dana, one of best views in Sierras, 3) visit world renown Tuolumne Meadow in Yosemite Park, 4) best view of Yosemite from Cloud’s Rest, 5) best water in California, 6) a swim every afternoon in a gorgeous lake or waterfall, and 7) climbing 13,000 peaks (Dana, Kuna).

EQUIPMENT:

On the training hike we had problems with inadequate packs, water access and boots. In the Sierras it gets colder at night. You definitely need a fleece and windbreaker, beanie, good sleeping bag, and rain gear. Boots should be good quality with snow seal if possible. Light weight long pants. Extra shoes/sandles. Bathing suit which could double as shorts is a good idea. Sun screen and bug juice. Finally, KEEP IT LIGHT! Questions? You know who to call!
