Mission Bay Campout

Mission Bay was a saltwater tidal marsh originally named False Bay by Juan R. Cabrillo in 1542. Since the late 1800s, False Bay was gradually developed into recreational facilities including fishing and hunting, which were destroyed. Today, Mission Bay is part of Mission Bay Park and becomes the largest artificial aquatic park in the US.

BSA San Diego Youth Aquatic Center (YAC) is in the Fiesta Island of Mission Bay Park. It provides the instructional opportunities in sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing.

Mission Bay trip is a great opportunity for families to find out how much fun the scouts have on these outings. In addition to the aquatic sports, beach soccer, football, volleyball, and beach campfire on Saturday are popular activities, Scouts also work on advancements as well. This can easily be another family trip for for one last time to wrap up the summer.
