San Gorgonio Mountain

San Gorgonio Mountain in Google Map

San Gorgonio is the highest mountain in Southern California, with an elevation of 11,503 feet, and is located in the San Bernardino Mountains.

There would be 3400 ft gain hiking from Fish Creek trailhead to the summit.

Due to wildfires, the Fish Creek trail is currently closed, so for our 2016 year, we will be hiking from Vivian Creek trailhead to the summit.

This trip will count as one of the 3-Day Backpacks for Backpacking Merit Badge. All those going to the peak will get in a 10-mile day for the Hiking Merit Badge.

This is our major training hike for Sierra since there is major altitude gain. This will be our most important measure of your ability to do the Sierra Trek.
