NO Camp Chawanakee summer camp in 2020 due to the COVID-19.
As we will visit a well-organized boy scout campsite which offers a dozen of Merit Badge lessons (with pre-set tents and also 3 meals a day), it is a great outing
for all scouts and also parents. Camp Chawanakee is at the Salver Lake where it is between Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Park, 330 miles/6 hours from Irvine. Activities are mainly scheduled daily Merit Badge/MB lessons (scouts can get 4 to 6 MBs normally) and also campsite activities/projects.
Estimated fee: $700 including scout camp event fee and other fees (transportation, camping material…….), excluding extra fee for some MB lessons and scouts’ personal purchasing, such as snacks, drinks
It is NOT a REFUNDABLE event due to we will pay Camp Chawanakee in advance (and not refundable)

Scouts, please visit Chawanakee Merit Badge Program before signing up for 4 merit badge classes and picking 1 as the backup. Please sign up at most 2 Eagle-required MB.
There will not be any MB class in the afternoon, it is suggested adult leaders can be MB councilors and can give our scouts extra MB in the afternoon. To do that, please contact our Merit Badge coordinator for details. But first of all, get the YPT certificate in advance.

** Please aware there are pre-requisites or recommended requirements to some merit badges. Scouts might complete partial merit badges in the summer camp and to finish the merit badges sometime later if missing pre-requisites.
*** Scouts' behaviors should be in accordance with Scout Oath and Scout Laws. Horseplay, physical violence, harassment, initiation rites, bullying, theft, verbal insults, ..., are prohibited. It's of the utmost importance that scouts follow instructions, especially during outings. Otherwise scout, not only put himself in danger, he also endangers those around him. Guardians are responsible for their scouts' manners.***
