Due to the low participation, this outing is cancelled. Instead, family visiting Battleship Iowa Museum is recommended because of its rich STEM learning and history.
The USS Iowa is a battleship that fought in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. It carried President Franklin D. Roosevelt to the Tehran Conferences in 1943, and was the first Navy ship to launch a RPV (Remotely Piloted Vehicle/Drone). It is now a museum at the San Pedro Port, Los Angeles. The museum offered an opportunity to camp overnight on the battleship for $85 per person per night. The overnight program includes a dinner and breakfast in the Enlisted Mess Decks, a sleeping berth in the enlisted crew quarters, and a tour introduction to STEM learning.
USS Iowa is a history enriched battleship museum; in order to make sure scouts enjoy the trip, play safe, and act accordingly, it is recommended that parents accompany their scout(s).
Please Sign Up: If there are less than 10 scouts signed up by the end of Wednesday, September 30, this outing will be canceled.
