Camporee is a fun campout with all other troops from the district. It happened at Rancho San Joaquin district private park called Oak Canyon Park from March 22nd to 24th, 2019.
It was a very good experience filled with lot of friendly fun activities. As a scout, I took this as an opportunity to master my scout skills, actively participate in competitions, and work with a team.
The campsite was really nice, and probably the best out of all the campsites. We had a very nice view at the top of the hill with a widespread grassy area, and we could see the lake right below us.
We woke up in the morning, prepared and had breakfast, waited for a little bit, and then we went to the flag ceremony at flagpole where we assembled and made the flagpole. The patrols have to perform their yells.
After flagpole, we continued with the rest of our schedule and activities such as Shelter Building, Knot Relay, First Aid Relay, Kim’s Game, Map and Compass, Scout Knowledge, Plutonium Transport, Rodeo Games, Spider Web, Fire Starting, Relay Races, Rodeo Golf, Spider Web, Shotgun Shooting, Archery, Cooking, Iron chef Competition, Skits, and Campfire. We had to work as a group together and we had to problem solve some challenges that would lead us to winning. All the activities were really focused and fun.
Mr. A and other scoutmasters guided us with all the activities.
At the closing ceremony, the awards were distributed to the winning team and we earned awards as well.
The overall experience was good and it is definitely recommended to all scouts.
