Zion National Park
We were running to catch the bus to hike the narrows. We arrived late because Sanjay's car blew a transmission. It was very scary to be stuck out in no where, with 115 degree heat and not knowing what was going to happen. Luckily, AJ &his dad showed up and rescued us. We were happy to arrive at Zion in time to catch the bus to the narrows.
Hiking the narrows was an amazing experience, especially in the heat because you can walk in cold water the whole way. The rock formation had interesting patterns and some you could even sit under. As we crossed the rocks, I was super happy that my mom bought me a good pair of water shoes.
Camping at Lake Powell
The night before we loaded the houseboat, we spent the night at a campground near Lake Powell. It was the first time I slept under the stars on a tarp. I thought it would get cold at night but it was a perfect temperature -or maybe I was just so tired I didn't notice. We were so busy in the morning loading the houseboat that I forgot to have breakfast. I was starving and ready to have lunch on the houseboat.
Lake Powell
On the first day of our houseboat adventure, I couldn't believe how beautiful the scenery was in every direction. I took a lot of photos so I could remember the landscape and interesting rock formations. Unfortunately, I had a cheap throwaway camera that didn't capture the amazing things we saw. At home, it was hard to find someone who could develop 35 mm film. We ended up developing them at Walmart and it took 10 days and over $20 to develop the photos. Next time I'm going digital!
